Getting clean air may be in your home with True HEPA filtration and the Clean Air System on this Eureka upright. Adding such a wide street cleaning, deluxe stretch hose, large brushroll, and air selector and bare floor switches allow you to clean both carpets and bare floors with ease. Exclusive system to catch dust trap debris and dust in three stages. Let's face it. Most Vacuums just not cut it when it comes to really cleaning the house or office. Damn carpet pet hair embedded more deeply than traditional Vacuums go; the pieces of tracked-in dirt and debris hunker under floor trim just out of range of the latest brush innovations, rendering us to the silliness of handpicking behind the expensive vacuum, filling bags us with fiber, and wondering-who really the boss? Problems like this make people in Eureka down and dirty and, ultimately, design the Boss Smart-Vac Upright Vacuum. Offers a strong performance for household cleaning everyday, the Eureka Boss is the solution for people who are trying hard to have the house completely clean. The Boss's Direct Air Control System features air selector switch that lets you direct all suction either deep into the carpet or into the hose easily on the floor cleaned. Power Paw brush makes it easy to clean stairs and upholstery, and even claws up embedded pet hair, so Fido can spend more time inside. Motorized brush lets you go from carpet-to bare floor-cleaning with the turn of a dial. Boss Smart-Vac is powered by a plump, 12-amp motor that provides plenty of suction power for deep cleaning carpets, and leaves nothing behind on hard floors. Pretty smart, right? Well, here's the really clever. Boss Smart-Vac is not just the best household carpet and floor-cleaning vacuum on the market, it also comes with a unique, sealed HEPA filtration system that captures 99.97 percent of dust, pollen, allergies, and bacteria. Thus, house dust does not mean you have to dust afterward, or sneeze when you do it. Carpet cleaner and clean indoor air at the same time! Plus, the boss is full of user-friendly features to take the frustration of dust. Wide cleaning path covers a lot of ground quickly before company comes. And, unlike the lower models, the Boss is designed with a brush-window display that shows how hard work, letting you actually see the powerful brush roller remove dirt from carpets and floors. Exclusive system to catch dust trap debris and dust in three stages. A handy stretch hose extends to five times their original length for reaching around furniture and suck cobwebs from the ceiling. And, 30-foot cord will not leave you to come short. Bare floor brushes designed to smoothly glide on wooden floors and tiles, while taking more dust and dirt in the corner and on the edge than the other models. - Brian Olson

Great suction, cleans very well, but this vacuum is very big and very heavy. Since it is so big, it is hard to reach into smaller spaces in my apartment without using the attachments. But I have trouble primarily because manipulating it so very heavy and requires a lot of arm and wrist strength. From the reviews, I knew this vacuum would be heavy, but I got it anyway because I needed to replace a convenient light-weight vacuum that did not have good suction and easily overheated. After six months, this one still runs well and cleans very well. Another small design flaw is that the electrical cord extends from the machine strangely lower to the ground than in other upright vacuums. This means that you must hold the cord in one hand (so you don 't run over it) while you push the heavy vacuum with your other hand.
I did all the research, and take the leap of faith. I want to Dyson for years, but I am VERY GLAD I bought this instead. He has all suck, and much easier on the pocket book. I hope it's more off the hose. It works amazing on the floor naked, and extraordinary strength. Be sure to buy lots of extra bags, because you will actually fill the first few weeks, if you vacuum daily as I do. My friend also purchased (a ).......... dog And he's talking about it. It 'sa super-vacuum. It 's hard, but you get used to it.
Purchased in January 2008. Use today and makes me think that I should put a review on what is good, reliable vacuum is a hard worker. Gets very heavy use with 2 active kids, 2 fuzzy dogs, swimming pool, rural, 3-story home with a variety of floor types. Never had a problem, very easy to use. My one tip is to check the bag before each use and change it as soon be in full line, make a big difference in performance.
I have had and used this 2/week empty for 7 years. C 'is very heavy and I don ' t need no more than what I'm up, always my 2 small children. I can empty the search field 4times later, there 'is not unique. It just doesn 't do as thorough a job - and it also sucks up small carpet, and something that burns there - I can smell the smoke. Not good! C 'is very plastic-y and bulky, and the parties have been broken. In addition, when the hose plugs into the machine, it is undone a bit and if I 'm vacuum and learn what I have just sucked are now back on the floor. Boring! Finally, this isn 't seem particularly friendly to me HEPA. I can see dust particles that I vacuum. When I take the bag from the machine, a cloud of dust often shoots in my face. I have bad allergies! I 'm not impressed. What I do: long 30 ft cord (I can clean my house while using the plug in only twice), the range of tools, height adjustment (to compensate for the thickness of carpets or bare ground ) and the bags seem to correspond fairly well and can acomodate lot of dirt. I 'ma teacher and I ' d give him a C, maybe a D.
We bought the Smart boss because Consumer Reports rated it very high. I am very disappointed in how easy it is to use. The vacuum cleaner is very big, heavy, and hard to maneuver. The pedal to release the top portion, or handle is very hard to use. It takes a lot of strength to push the pedal down enough to release it. I also find it very difficult to go from the carpet to the floor mode mode. In order to change modes, you have to push a lever that moves the brush for the different modes. This lever is very difficult to push. It takes both of my hands to push hard enough to move the brushes. I think it is sufficient in how powerful the unit is, but since I find it difficult to maneuver, I do not use it that much.
... For a decent clean vacuum! One that t is not too heavy, too loud, and clean both carpets and bare floors! Our previous vacuum (before I bought it) was an Oreck. It was nice and light but strong and did a terrible job on the carpet. So, I came to Amazon, read countless reviews and decided on this particular model of depression. Fortunately, it was not t 'horribly expensive, because it was said the disappointment would be too little to say! Rcon R : r1. Heavy r2. Terrible on bare soil (dirt scattered around) r3. The filter can be difficult to change r4. Compartment filter is dirty and it is really hard to clean r5. t hose doesn 'work very well ... especially if you add an attachment to the end of it. R6. Horrible to clean the stairs because the vacuum hose is heavy and not worth anything (see # 5). R rPros : r1. Carpet Cleaner pretty well. R2. Hard to push on carpet (even short pile carpets). R3. Less noisy than in the past I've empty 'Used (but still strong). R RSO, all is said and done, I would not recommend this vacuum to anyone if they have bare floors. If you have carpet, then it may be good for you - but remember that you will get a good workout!
After considerable research I Define Eureka 4870GZ upright vacuum. After 2 minutes to assemble, I tested in my living room and Was so pleased with it (and attachments) that I Went to thoroughly clean the House overall. The power was amazing attachment to clean the cat hair off the couch! Very easy to use suction, a large, sturdy construction. Negatives? It 's red. This interval is slightly different from what I m 'used to. And it takes about 2 weeks to ship - I expect Amazon 's fast shipping Was But only the ship s option vendor schedules (oh, and the seller-offered "quick " delivery at an additional cost, But Are the date SAME Either way vessel). So plan ahead.
We bought this because it gets good reviews and reasonable price ... like $ 159 Well, I just hate it. It 's heavy, stiff, hard to clean, difficult to replace the bag and close the front. I pollute after 2 years and could not 't be happier. Ugh! I call it behemouth " ". Worst vacuum ever. Is it still amazed that it got good reviews. Carpets / floor swith a real pain, life belt, short overalls blechhh ... and I'm not really too picky!
I bought this vacuum in March '08 thanks to the many rave reviews received from other buyers and that it was mentioned favorably in Consumer Guide. RIT arrived safely and without incident. Aspiration has always been my least favorite Karpasha, so I was initially pleased to use it. And I was particularly pleased that this really wanted vac vacuum ... and beside me tired just trying to keep up with it. I have a big house (one floor only), and a son and no pets indoors, our carpets Don 't really get that dirty. Such is the case, vacuuming twice a day is usually all that is needed (and hard linoleum floor areas & Sweep). RTO my surprise after so little use (about 5 months worth) and has become a struggle to push Louder. It seems that the auto-push the action had failed. Unsure about what was wrong, I removed the bottom plate and clean debris such as hair, etc.. A roller and the surrounding area. I also changed the belt and replaced the bag. None of these solved the problem. The gap is even stronger than when it arrived, t doesn 'pick up, as it did when it arrived, and is an absolute bear to maneuver because it is so heavy-action to propel the car without pushing it works correctly. RI were shopping around for another blank - won 't be in Eureka - I just don ' t seem to have luck with that brand (this was my 2nd). rand after reading reviews on this latest vac, it appears that many others had the same problems I have.
First of all I bought this vacuum and have been using it for approximately six months. On the positive side, the vacuum suction and actually is great. I love that it uses HEPA filter technology. However there are some negative points that I would like to point out: r r1. At first its very difficult to get the game from Vacuum Upright Vacuum tone to a leaning position. Its like its stiff. Over time this gets easier. R r2. The stretchy Hose is not long enough to do some jobs. I find that the Vacuum falls a lot when I am trying to get into small spaces or when trying to vacuum the stairs. R r3. The Wound around the cord does stay back off the vacumm very well. Its like its not big enough to hold the whole cord. I end up just leaving the cord loose in the closet b / c I have given up on ACTUALLY BEING ABLE TO GET IT TO STAY PUT. R r4. The Vacuum is Heavier on the side which makes it difficult to get up and down stairs and also when it falls when you are using the Hose. R rOverall I still think its a good vacuum for the price but definitely has some limitations.
This is like a vacuum cleaner with a Sherman tank. This is extremly hard, impossible to use on carpets of size and too noisy. I tried to use it in my room to fly a binding piece of fur, hair, deer, etc. on the floor. Because HEPA filtration vacuum in front of the hole that blew large amounts of air, all that has been blowing the feathers etc. causing chaos all over the room bigger. Two positive thing is that it does not has a large number of suction and a long rope. I Have for a few weeks now and I will put an extra in the paper to get rid it. I would not recommend this vacuum, unless you work a lot on weight lifting machine!
I bought my Eureka 4870 in September 2007. Now, a week shy it's only two years, the release lever on the handle fell off the other day while vacuuming. Not to be beaten or anything, just flew by itself with a "Boing " sound! Of course, the warranty is only good for one year, and now m 'in front of their repair or buying a new vacuum. sum ll At least the only local repair shop vacuum will a free estimate. R ri 'the rest of what I think of this gap (note that empty don t ' as often as impressive, perhaps every two weeks, so it 's not the vacuum has a very hard " life!") r rPROS: r1. Really pick up dirt and pet hair great. R r2. Good separation of the suction hose, I Haven 'had a problem with the detachment of cracks in the hose. R R3 . Long cable is long, but I have a small house. R R4. Stop turning the brush vertically, so you can "park " for a minute without melting any carpet). R R5. It works well on floors. R rCONS: r1. Very strong, it makes it look solid, but it is sometimes difficult to maneuver. I can 't imagine carry up and down the stairs. R r2. Loud, but stronger than any vacuum Others? I don 't know, is not t ' bothers me (although I can 't Listen to the phone even during use), but I ' m pretty sure that my dog hated the sound! R R3 . "Light " burned after a few months. R R4. "The Paw" little attachment to the dust after a few months (it was good while it worked). R R5. Attachments are stupidly mounted in the vacuum. That is, the upholstery attachment fell off all the time since first use ... I was really mad, so I finally put it in my wardrobe, with the non-working "leg"! The brush will not come back on the same site 's, I have to put in the reality that, so mashing some of the bristles. R R6. When you wrap the cord is not right ... the cord falls off halfway through my wrap it up, almost always. I think it might be because there is more room for the cable at the top, and a very narrow space in the background. R R7. The detachment of the hose is a little short. I 'm 5 '3 "And I really had to stretch to get up in the corners of my roof. R R8 . Hard to adjust the height of ... you have to put upright vacuum ' s position to adjust the height and change the carpet to the floor, which leads me to ... r r9. Management ridiculously release lever is made ... I don 't know what ' s not considered defective since it 's very clear that many people have the same issue. You have to put full weight on the lever Super to be released and you actually have to push the handle on what's going to snap back into vertical position 's position. This occurred from the first use, and had to wait just needed breaking in.. Well, "broken " was the keyword, and the lever flew off, along with a few pieces of metal from the bottom, and now I can t 'use. One of the pieces of metal flew so far that I can 't even find it! R r10. Last but certainly not least, vacuum bags seemed too small for an upright vacuum cleaner. They are also difficult to find (at least in my area). I finally found a package of 10 at Sears. I can 't remember what I paid, but it was somewhere between $ 15 and $ 20. R rThere have it, I hope that the information is useful. After he was taken into the repair shop vacuum and get your free quote I can publish 'll update my review with the result ...
I have owned this vacuum for over two years and enjoyed it at first. It has great suction tools and the hands are nice. But now, open the hose for the hand tools has split. And it seems like every time I use it, it grows more heavy to work with. So if you have any issues with upper body strength at all, pass up this vacuum - it is monstrously heavy! It is also very loud and blows hot air right where you hold it onto the base to use it on the stairs. Rther are too many issues with this Vacuum for me to recommend it ... particularly when I am looking to replace my investment after only two years.
Purchased this vacuum after reading Consumer Reports Some Great review. We 've owned it for a year and a half now. I 'm constantly stretched and besides getting a new roller cover from Eureka Because They Are continuous melting. When it 's work, it ' s great, but be prepared for regular repairs! I 'd Rather Have Spent $ 100 and had another quality, lasting vacuum.
We ve 'Eureka 4870GZ owned our lives for a year. We bought it after reading all the rave reviews. It 's definitely someone to expectations. So impressed by how empty all the hair of the dog (we have a German Sheppard). It 's night and day old model that only someone without a bag that has broken twice (ie lost all suction power) and simply pushed the hair of the dog around instead of cleaning it up. Wasn t 'a big problem to go back to using bags. It 's cleaner this way, and ' s worth to finally have a powerful vacuum that can be trusted to keep the carpets clean for someone who the child to play. We re 'really happy that I also found a solution that ' s cheaper than the Dyson .... R rPros intake serious, it collects large amounts of dog hair without hesitation, nice design, convenient, reliable rCons : annoying mouth on the front of the machine that blows off the cards / pictures from my table when I come from , it 's little heavy, and doesn t move ' well in tight spaces ... Fortunately we do not 'does not have too many tight spaces to address r rDespite the other hand, is ' s the best vacuum I've 'found in a reasonable price range.
I love vacuuming - really! But I Used to dread it because this machine is so heavy. I am in my thirties and in very good shape (I run 20 miles / week), But I hated pushing this monster around. I Notice that one male reviewer Dismissed the weight an issue, But if you don 't want to be your vacuuming workout for the day, think twice before you buy this one, Especially if You Have stairs or a lot of square footage. Was my place the small two-bedroom apartment with the stairs, But I Was glad to see the last of the Boss. (It didn 't die, my ex took it When We split up. He ' s over 6 ft, runs and does karate, so the weight doesn 't bother him as much.) R rAnother drawback Is That the nozzle at the end of the hose and the plastic wands are quite brittle and crack easily. r Ron the plus side, it does clean very well. I found the power to Be paw is very effective dirt and cat hair on the sofa and area rugs (the machine was too powerful to use the suction on my small floor rugs). The dusting brush is great for baseboards, electronics, etc.. The attachments worked well even with the cracks WHERE They join the hose - I didn 't notice a loss in suction. My apartment was clean for sure. And I have no complaints about repairs or belts breaking. For Me It Was a reliable vacuum for the three years I Had It. I didn 't Have to change the bag to the Often Either with my old Hoover. R rBut now I have the cute, lightweight and inexpensive Eureka Optima, Which I love for my small space. Also it cleans very well, But weighs and costs half what the Boss does.
Don 't buy it! The position switch was all the time to buy genuine. In the shop three weeks - still on parts! The workshop Told they have seen us a whole series of these. After reading many blogs about this problem, I can not believe that Consumer Reports rated it as best buy ".
Stay away from this model! I thought I had researched it thoroughly, and I tend to believe Consumer Reports. So I fall for it and it only broke after 10 uses! According to the repairman, the broken part is the connector on the thermal reset. Apparently this vacuum model is the one most often brought in for repairs. Other issues are: the heavy weight, the unavailability of replacement bags, and the complex construction (a lot of layers). R rSave yourself the aggravation and do not buy this particular vacuum! R Rif you are not convinced by me, please read the very long and detailed analysis of a vacuum repairman, which is included in the 1-star reviews here on Amazon. He tells you immediately that this particular vacuum model is actually the one most often brought in for repairs!
This thing is the bomb! Powerful, efffective, reliable, good looks, what more could you ask for in a man ... he vacuum. I 've had it for two years and haven ' t had a thing to regret or complain. R rI don 't have stairs or more than one level, but I don ' t think it would be too heavy for me even if I did. It comes with the brush of energy, which should minimize the number of times they had to be withdrawn on stairs anyway. R rA great value!
i love this vacume. It picks up a ton of dog hair, ITS light, easy to use and last year. ITS an amazing value for the price. Originally when I bought my first boss smart, I have tons of research and consumer reports. They are Right. I had my old one for close to 10yrs and just replaced it about a month ago
I now read reviews and wanted the Dyson for pet hair Control But just couldn 't get me 500 + on something I do spend HATED! Seriously that much money for a vacuum, what do the work without it running or at least it's better if I wanted to buy. So after much discussion, I went with the Eureka Smart Vac for pet lovers. It was a fraction of the cost, and I'm happy with my vacuum away. The PET-paw system is fantastic! I have all kinds of tricks to get my hair always Bassett Tried dogs away from my furniture and amazing thing that really the job! I was almost surprised ... it took me like vacuuming (don 't let my husband hear me say that, although!) I can ' t compare it with the Dyson b / c I never used, but this does the trick and Eureka for the money Buy I saved it, I'm happy!
I 've If this vacuum for two years and I ' I hated every minute of it. It 's so heavy that ' s difficult to manage the stairs. You should also keep in the position of the 's Open ' as they struggle w / the ladder or the whisk brush t doesn 'take part and all I get is to suck. It s not satisfactory to the carpeted stairs. The extra atatchments break easily and have no value. Does a decent job on carpeting hardwood but necessary to use the hose. The division of the hose after 1 year and had to duct tape it. The lever to release the handle so that the cans lay in ruins after 18 months. It 's not well done. I had to buy bags online because they want 're hard to find.
