Reviews

Was with my DC17 for a few months ago, and I must say, it is actually makes vacuuming fun. The suction is reached could handle approximately twice as much as my previous Eureka. R rat first appears and forth to the ground mode and using the telescopic tool bit cumbersome, but it gets easier with practice. It comes with very few instruments, but unfortunately only three of them on board the Dock - you have to save the others somewhere. R rone of the clever features of this vacuum is that the (powerful) rotating brush shuts down automatically when the handle in the upright position and there 's also a manual override button that lets you turn off the brush when vacuuming deciduous and tiled floors. R rwho ever believe that a company coming along and could make a vacuum cleaner "cool"?

i have owned my Dyson appx. 2 yrs and purchased it from HSN. I would love to leave my review there but it isn 't allowed unless your purchase was made within the last 6 months. It 'sa great vaccuum cleaner but be very very careful not to suck up to The Edge of gold Sock Rug into it, etc.. That little accident that happens commonly usually results in having to buy a new belt for the vacuum - an inexpensive do-it-yourself job. Well, I just learned that if it happens with a Dyson it will cost you from $ 75.00 to $ 100.00 on avg. You can 't just replace the belt - you have to buy a complete transmission assembly part which winds through the belt and it takes special tools to remove and install it. One vacuum repair store told me the part is $ 75.00 and another said it was $ 80.00 and of course they add their work time to it. I am a Mortgage Loan Officer and for those of you who have signed all of the disclosure forms you know every little thing has to be disclosed. Most people don 't care what those Disclosures are they just sign because they want what they want regardless of the consequences. Nevertheless all of the homes have usually been disclosed. It 's very aggravating thats not anything else where disclosure is required. I may have purchased the Dyson anyway I had this little known fact but maybe not. How many times does this happen to you? Sold on all the good features with no mention of the bad?

I bought the Dyson Animal 2 years ago, and it still leads as new. I own a Saint Bernard, and it is excellent at pick-up dog hair. My dog sheds like no other. I have not noticed any damage or over carpet carpet fibers in the vacuum after use already in other reviews. I was spending so much concern to a vacuum and how long it continues to function well. My vacuum cleaner went through so many filters at $ 40 per shot, I was so glad that this filter has never changed. It's worth the money. RThe is only negative, it has no light. But I've never been a vacuum in the dark.

Ok guys I have a lot of research on vacuum cleaners, I have a yellow lab and hanging wall carpeting. Needless to say I am looking for something specific. Read a lot of reviews on this Dyson model, just figured it was what I was looking for. Expensive, but what the heck if it picks up dog hair 'll be happy. Anyway this is a good job in dog hair, the only issue I (if I know first I wouldn 't have bought it) the round filter (u know the one, u only have to remove and wash twice a year) mine gets clogged and full of hair everytime I use it the hair 's should enter the canister. And rather disgusting smells, so after I took the filter and rinsed it and removed all the hair trapped in it, left it to dry, then use the vacuum it stinks. Maybe me a lemon I 'm not sure. So guess what m 'back to using my original my Kenmore canister vacuum. Bottom line Don 'T IT purchase ......... MODEL IT 'S Terrible!

I don 't have this knowledge that I hope nobody gets ticked off at me for writing this. Hopefully this will help you decide. I always wanted a Dyson, but my wife grew up with the canister vacuums, I know I went to Sears. This was about 5 years in August bought a nice $ 350 Sears Kenmore canister vac. It still works perfectly I might add. Last week, we decided we needed a vaccine with a small brush wiring for light work week When We don 't want to haul out the bad boy. I decided I was not 'going to one of the major retailers Because reading reviews about small vacuum cleaners to no avail. Everyone is 50/50 of hate or love Your little piece of garbage. I looked at the empty spot clean retailers in the phone book and off we went. He showed us some gaps and we had a pleasant conversation, and I noticed a group of vacuum line and scored against the wall. I SAID "Oh, you'll notice right? " His response was: "yes ", and I was looking for the meat that day. There was maybe ten of them. To my surprise about 1 / 3 were Dysons. I mentioned something about the Dysons and he told me to follow him. We returned to the workshop and whoa, empty and about 40 1 / 3 Dyson. He looked at me and Said "Dysons are rubbish! They 're rubbish." He told me that if it weren 't for Dyson vacuum cleaners as it wouldn ' t be able to stay in business. It 's not just Dyson mind you (tell me now). They sell all that are in big box stores really are junk. I can understand If You Can 't save money for a very good vacuum, but you can save money if you ' re buying a Dyson. Really do yourself a favor and call your local guy. Help relieve their burden of manual work, allowing them to make a profit out of you while working on his brothers Dyson. They need that balance. R rhe let me take $ 300 for the simplicity of turning and I think made a Dyson moves across the floor. Honestly, it was a Ferarri Dyson Compared to plastic. I 'm glad I saw what I saw, and I hope this at least asks you to go visit your local guy. Give him a chance to clarify it. Vacuum cleaners are a necessary evil and unhappy they are important to your family and your pets. R rHere 's the beauty of this whole story. This guy takes the Simplicity line of vacuum cleaners, probably the best vacuum cleaner in the world. It 's possible to pay more than $ 1,400 for an upright position. This guy pushed me to a $ 69 Eureka wireless. I told him my budget was $ 300 for a stick vacuum serious. He said everyone loves this little Eureka I get it and find out. It's rubbish 's but it works very well, has a rotating brush, you ' re more apt to use it and only costs $ 69. What a guy! R rp.s. I am not a vacuum cleaner salesman and never have been sold or a vacuum (just thrown out Them)

I 've been the Dyson DC17 Animal Cyclone Upright for four years, and I ' m really happy with it. The suction power is always there. No bags to buy, and to get the dust collection compartment really clean, I use a brush with a long handle attached. A little rap on the side of the win column on my knuckles, and a little action toothbrush, it gets cleaned. I 've never had trouble getting anything with contradiction, and I don t use ' vacuum either wet Carpets. No problem on the belt yet either. R rThe best thing about it is the cleaners ability to take very fine thing, dirty powder, like black flour. Wow, it keeps picking it up. After the first hour of using it, I though wow, my old vacuum is that a lot of dirt left behind. I thought that I do not see the volume of the Standard and Poor Every time the fine material in canister, but it still keeps working great. R rThe only problem I 've had is the cheap Berber carpeting in my living room. The vacuum is from Standard and Poor tend to have strong force in cleaning brush, that once the cheap carpeting from the long thread to get sucked into it. R rThe last vacuum I had was a hand-me-down Hoover That would take 35 years, so I wanted something really good, and I am very satisfied with the Dyson DC 17 Animal.

I Love my Dyson Animal for many Reasons, ESPECIALLY for the suction power it has Maintained with constant use over the past year and a half. HOWEVER if you use the hose with the hard floor attachment, you will from some disappointed. Sure it works great for awhile, but I have had 3 hoses at the top seam split the hose making worthless over the past year and a half. I know I vacuum a lot and pic up a lot of my hair with this pet vacuum, but there is' Simply no excuse for this fault in the design. Dyson has sent me free hoses, but my 2 year warranty runs out soon and this Could an expensive and wasteful changed from (environmentally from discarding hoses) venture. (Also Dyson Each time has Told me That this is not covered under warranty but they want That will of do-it-for me as a courtesy). Because I use the hose so much I Will not buy another Dyson improve unless they want this. In Addition, my Dyson is now making a terrible noise (like something is stuck in the carpet brush) but nothing is caught. This did start after I accidentally sucked up part of a rug, but I stopped the machine right away. My fault, I admit .. but this has Happened to me before with cheap vacuums and they want did not break. I can 't believe That this expensive machine lasted me less than two years. I guess if you don 't clean often this would be fine, but I thought I was getting a great machine That would stand up to my cleaning. I was partially right, but ultimately I am disappointed.

Have 2 dogs that shed a ton. this one is what it claims! The amount of hair and dirt it sucks up is beyond belief. Product is a bit heavy and the retractable wand could be in my opinion but the cleaning power outweighs the small, some negative. I would definitely buy this one again.

I have owned the DC07 model for a number of years and I would rate it 5 stars plus. So when I went to purchase another vacuum I thought it would be as least as good. While the vacuum suction is always there no matter what there are times when something gets clogged and reduces the amount of suction. In DC07 is very easy to remove the parts to see where the problem is. Not really this model. It is difficult or even impossible to eliminate the most objects. Also have at least a portion with a very cheap piece of plastic in it that easy to break. I would be very reluctant to buy another Dyson.

This definitely Picks up cat hair vacuum well. I like watching how fast it collects in the Canister. The Canister is relatively easy to clean. It pops off with the push of a button and you can remove the outer shell to get at the inner cone, which does need some attention from fine particulate build-up but otherwise the dumping of the container is very easy ... do it outside because the fine particles Grabs this thing can be released as a cloud in your house again if you 're not careful. A few more minor but negative things: 1) the vacuum is heavy 2) hard to work with on the stairs because "Wand telescopic reach " Hose is resistant to pulling the vacuum which can move and the direction of pulling it off the back tent of the vacuum to be cumbersome making you have to orient the vacuum 3) the most annoying thing I find is having to take off the entire electrical cord to use the telescopic Wand 4) all of the attachemnts can 't to be at hands reach, only the three smaller fit. I know it sounds like I should have given this a rating less than I did but I have to say overall I am satisfied about how it keeps the cat hair and dandruff to a minimum.

This thing will pick up the finest particles on the floor. I 've had it for about seven months and it still has amazing suction. It is easy to empty the canister, a nice one-handed motion. The motor moves it across the floor without much effort pushing. R rif you set the vacuum to "floor " instead of "carpet " it becomes very hard to push. I am 5 '8 and in pretty good shape but this is still a vacuum HEAVY. If your home is multi-level, you may want to seriously consider if lugging it up the stairs is worth the amazing cleaning quality. So, if you want to use the hose, you have to unwind all of the cord. This is cumbersome if you want to use the wall frequently to get along baseboards.

I really love this vacuum. Never Knew all the dust and stuff That was Trapped in my carpet. Its a bit big and bulky, but i love the suction this thing on! Dyson Great job!

I bought for my wife before our baby was, because we wanted to make something we were all getting hair born out of the carpet. We Had A Kenmore'm on the top of the list and we consume reports that it is doing a great job was. That is, until we compared to the Dyson. R rAmazon Had an insane sale on this vacuum so I bought one to try. After it together, my wife is the Kenmore Used the carpet like they always Docs. Then with the Dyson. We were both shocked at the amount of animal hair, the Dyson Picked Up That the Kenmore missed! It was incredible. You this evening Derwent House all through the "vacuum everything. He filled the can! R rThese Dyson's are expensive end, it really is worth it. We thought we had the best money could" buy Kenmore Dyson the goal, it destroyed in one afternoon. R rHighly recommended if you have pets.

My wife and I have a dog that flow a LOT. We decided to get our carpets professionally cleaned a year ago for a holiday. After washing our carpets, we recommend investing in clean vacuum quality, because I took a ton of hair. One of the brands that I mention it was Dyson. I did a little research online and worry about the price (usually around $ 450 to DC 17). We finally found one for $ 350 after rebate and decided to take the leap. I just finished vacuuming the entire house today and we filled the whole container, within seven days we have the carpet cleaned. I am amazed at how much dirt and hair was removed. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has a dog that shed. He comes with many attachments that come in handy for stairs and furniture. Buy this vacuum! You won 't regret it!

This is our second Dyson. The First One Was a very early model DC-14 (purchased in 2004) so that HAD a few design flaws The Dyson DC17 has been clearly corrected in the more powerful. SECOND plastic parts on the model taking a beating so I hope this new Lasts longer. My first lasted only five years but, to give a break Dyson, I use a Single Every Day! We Have the dog and the hair is a problem. The new DC17 All Floors model is really a great job. Beater bar is much more powerful and easy controls on the handle to turn on and off the bat is a life saver. Don 't use it with the beaters on a wooden floor. Seems to scuff finished candle. They just turn it off for the wooden floor. Still do a great job. It 's weight and ' s strong, so get ready for it. That's what I want to vacuum it tastes and this one is not! We're happy campers Dyson.

I just bought this vacuum for "I "..... "Our " gift for Christmas this year and couldn 't stand it, open it, read everything, and put the party on it. I then turned on Rit. What I experienced (in my mouth hanging open) is the most amazing experience I ever had to vacuuming. R RWE rent. It 's a nice person. Two story. The carpet is not new, but I vacuumed it with my heavy duty Eureka and thought the carpet looked clean. That vacuum bit the dust on me for various reasons and we have to invest in a new vacuum. I sincerely thought of getting just another Eureka for a great low price, and when it runs off to buy another one. R rNEVER again. I 't say enough about this Dyson DC17 Animal Vacuum. Just going on the carpet that I thought looked clean, and filled the canister ..... what amazed me it's picked up the dirt! Fine dirt. It also of course is the dim dust my other vacuum always picked up, but with a certain layer of dirt Fine. Things that are wiggled itself WAaaayyyy down on the carpet itself. I was amazed! Not only this ... almost pushed itself! IT WAS SO easy to use! When you stop for a moment, they are vacuum thing, where it will automatically stop the bar from rotating and a little whoosh sound is coming out, then when you start to push it again, it just zooms. RTO lean back from the Vacuum vertical position, simply hold your foot on both sides of the vacuum and put pressure on them, while pulling backward. The vacuum "head " then the little maneuver where this kind of crunches up following the defeat bars close down on the carpet, if you go over to the non-carpeted floor, just hugs it to the next level. ITS AMAZING. R rYou WILL NOT BE SORRY for ever buying this vacuum. I am 64 yrs. old and it makes vacuuming a delight. Everything. So Easy to operate and I haven not even started to go on and on about all the wonderful tool it is, empty the Easy Way It 's! RYou don 't have to buy filters, ever. Only twice a year under running tap water rinse the filter, and let it completely dry for 24 hours. THIS! It s brand 'new again! R rSomeone stated that it started picking up their carpet fibers from the carpet and it was negative. Sorry bout that, BUT IF IT DID THAT I 'd call on the carpet manufacturers about low quality carpet, vacuum unharmed THIS! (Or get new carpet but don 't blame vacuum!) R rSAVE your money if you have to, but don ' t miss out on this vacuum because it is amazing! (Like magic ladder is !.... and as I said, the tools ARE amazing.) RSuzanne rSunny Florida

We collect this vacuum yesterday at Best Buy for $ 350. We were very skeptical at spending so much money in a vacuum, but we think that since it was on sale that we 'd give it a shot. Firstly we have a two year old lab that gives yellow all over the place. We have a Hoover vacuum largest gathering that seemed a lot of hair Pls empty. We had just vacuum, two days before with our old vacuum. When we brought home the Dyson DC 17 We put together and tried immediately. We have a ten foot by foot over ten tile carpet in our room. I hope this piece of carpet that fill and empty the basket in less than a minute with dog hair, dust and who knows what else. We were part of the piece surprised and disappointed that we saw. We hope the rest of our house and had to empty the basket of seven or eight times because it filled. RSO, our first impression is that it was a great buy. The house just feels cleaner now, knowing that we sucked up and pulled 7-8 baskets of dog hair and dirt. We 'll see if this empty cans continue with this, because it ' s advertisers.

If vacuum is a bit more competitively priced I would be leaving it 5 out of 5 stars. I live in a shared apartment with three cats running around. These little guys shed like crazy and my previous vacuum was a 12 gallon shop vac. Unfortunately, the shop vac breakers will blow, if I wouldn 't have made this investment. Fortunately, this vac is wonderful and I don 't miss the shop vac one bit. The construction feels fragile but I think the engineers who did all loose fitting in the frame to make it easier to clean the unit.

The vacuum itself works very well. It sucks up everything. I like the attachment stay attached to the vacuum when they are not out to use. R rWhen need service, watch! Customer service is very unprofessional, but if their job is to say "no " I had problems with motor and the vacuum is too strong. After spending lots of time and putting about 100 miles on my car, I finally was sent to a UPS store to send it back customer service described. When it came back from service center Dyson broken, I had to pay to fix the damage, as it was 'thank you "manufacturing defect. " I had to hang up the manager because I could ' t handle being interrupted and yelled at any longer. I don 't think he let me finish a complete sentence in 10 minutes I was on the phone with him. Very frustrating. R Rif buy it, I hope it does not break '.

For $ 500 plus I take this vacumn expected to more than four years! On 2 Year of the canister broke pull mechanism, so I closed the container with tape. Since every piece of plastic from under the button to the canister release button that holds the hoses, plastic has collapsed. Dyson 's response - sorry, no longer under warranty. Is it just me or has the original commercials say, this product "of the last you vacumn ' ll ever buy." I realize they want to don 't use line that anymore. Yes, have done great Dyson's suction power and minimal loss of suction, but I've never had even a cheap vacumn my destroying itself, as Dyson has!

This vacuum is far superior to any I have the same properties in Engineering Design and use. It picks up dirt and animal (cat) hair with ease. I have two other vacuum that don 't come to this unit. Well worth the extra money for a Great vacuum. The only down size I think it is a little heavy if you have to bring it up and down steps. But again, the features are superior to any other vacuum. This filter is a life time. Easy empty bin on the push of a button, many long hose to clean the steps. To buy everything around you won t regret '

Personally, I don 't own a Dyson but I have two close friends who have owned this particular model and they are both very unhappy. Both work for dinner and had to be repaired within a year time.Beware these comments are based on the use of only a few months. You 'll find that when you do your research after a while that these machines where people tend to not like them for a number of reasons. For what you pay for them they should t be the break as they are. I don 't see this gap as a good value and certainly wouldn ' t purchase based on what my friends went to theirs.

I decided to write an Amazon review after losing my 3rd Dyson vacuum yesterday ... the 3rd one in under 5 years. My first two were the Vacs Dyson DC-14 models. The first vacuum last around 2.5 years and did a very good job ... for a while. After losing suction, it wasn 't worth the cost to repair the motor & vacuum. I bought a second DC-14, which never seem to have the suction of the first one but the engine Burnt out after a year or so. I attribute this to extended use (2-3 times a week) vacuuming 2100 sq foot house (mainly the living room, dining room, computer room, a bedroom) 2-3 times / week. So, I upgraded to the DC-17 Animal Absolute gold because I do have two shedding dogs and a cat ... Thought I 'd have better luck with an "Animal " Friendly vacuum. R rWell, yesterday, the purple Dyson Animal Absolute Gold (DC-17) died ... and I was so upset 'cause the thing cost me approximately $ 600 Nearly one months ago. The DC-17 started to lose suction and power consistently over the past several months. Buttons (On-Off, Brush) stopped working properly. Vacuum constantly started to over heat after 5 minutes of use. I cleaned the filter regularly after being told that an uncle Contribute to the filter engine burnout of my 2nd DC-14 (???). However, like the second Dyson, this model disappointed after one year of careful use. R RI now bought a Bissell Lift Off Dual Cyclonic, which does not receive great reviews here on Amazon. I too bought into the Dyson hype. I feel saddened that I have parted with yet another Dyson. When they work, the Dyson Vacs clearly do a job unsurpassed by other vacuum cleaners. But with a life of under two years, I can not afford these things at $ 600 a pop! After reading through dozens of reviews vacuum today, perhaps a year is the "new " shelf life where vacuum. My mom had a Hoover for 15 years, my husband has a Rainbow that has worked for 18 years. I 'm confused and sick of buying vacuum cleaners!

I feel so in love with the animal that I bought three of them for four years and a model Canister (one for each floor of my house and one for my cabin). Yes the first time they were amazing. Although the construction and cheap parts that aren 't interchangeble I was not ' t sequenced. I have three dogs and cats more than I can count. I am also a Germaphobe and can 't stand hair. I 've gone through all the vacuum out there, and will pay anything for the one who will do the job. Well, I hate being the bearer of bad news, but these are no different than any other. Dyson OJ lose suction. Despite regular cleaning and maintenance of the filter that stopped working ALL-even one that is in my hand practically no use! I just replaced them with a $ 65 Bissell Powerforce Walmart and I haven rugs' t looked this clean in years! Yes, that too will eventually lose suction, but I 'll be out $ 65,500 dollars not! Live and learn.

I thought as the Dyson but after four years let me tell you how my vacuum cleaner lasted or n 'last. Voltage rafters two years, I wore a vacuum by the handle and broke it. Cut my hand with sharp pieces of plastic. To replace the part that cost me, $ 125.00. Sorry not under warranty! REverytime What is empty ounces a week my vacuum loses pieces of plastic. RNow nearly 4 years, I can not use it. Pipe is connected by Tirade you press the handle. After years of suppression of the handle for cleaning stairs and dust on the walls two small pieces of cheap plastic that holds the handle to empty Have you worn out and can not push the hndle Since the vacuum does not remain up. R rI Have recently bought a Hoover with a cyclone. The hose is connected to the removable side to which it is easier to clean corners and edges where the carpet and wall. Not to mention I can always push the handle without dropping the vacuum apparatus.
