this is my vac VPX secondly, after we spent the first 2 1 / 2 years of hard use. Rwhen wears that I hope to get another.

This is a great and powerful vacuum. It uses the LiFePO4 battery technology for a power source. One major downfall, the 2 switches inside that are used to power up this great contender are prone to wear out prematurely. This is only accelerated by any excess dirt that makes it past the filter and gets into the switches further accelerating their wear. I love this vacuum, but I had to replace the switches with some quality American brand, the vacuum now runs great. Unfortunately for the general public this is not an option. I purchased this vacuum because of the new battery technology inside which is superior. Keep in mind this vacuum will run for only 10 minutes straight on a charge, but it is the best hand held vacuum for that 10 minutes. I suggest you buy 2 sets of batteries and a charger double. This is why the title of this review is "VPX Double Edge Sword ". I love and hate this vacuum.

The batteries are not included in the September I 2VPX This means another $ 50 to the top of the price gap. R RI 'read these lithium ion batteries to last more than five minutes in operation and have a short lifespan. R rThis So this whole product line be interrupted.

Mainly we use this for picking up pieces of dirt and bark fall off o firewood That When We bring it inside or put it in the fireplace. It picks it all up and Is Easy to clean and empty. The suction doesn 't have to Be prononcer strong as in the old Dustbuster and the batteries don ' t Have a long run time goal it Enough Is Easy to load 'em. Both the vacuum and the load looks really nice. One reviewer Said you could "use the inverter for USB devices and cell phones. The only thing you can use my battery charger for IS VPX. It is Possible to daisy chain chargers. Note the vacuum That Does not come with batteries or charging. If you don 't Already Have the battery and charger make sure you can get' em for a good price Before buying the vacuum. Based on the Black and Decker web site, it looks like the VPX line IS discontinued. That Probably means clustering That argument batteries wear out if you won 't Be Able to get new ones.

Now, what was that a mistake! I ordered THIS VAC, it came in a timely manner, but without the battery or charger, THEN THE I ordered the battery and charger. It came out took THEN I FOUND that was only a battery and the AC delivered two. So I ordered the last one IS NOW battery is charging. could hesitate Maybe it's my own stupidity COME TO think that would be fully BUT I EQIPPPED before I order anything at Amazon THAT more than one component. AMAZON should clarify this in their AD for this article HAVE

I ordered this vacuum pocket a few weeks ago and was surprised cam without batteries. I should have read the contents better. RAnyway, once I have the batteries and the charger I was really impressed by the good it works. The high-extension enables you to reach into corners and differentials etc tirade Batteries (rechargeable s ') can be used for various tools from B & D ' s Series VPX. RI wish him cam with a cradle / connect.

I just got my Black & Decker VPX Lithium-Ion VPX2102 Hand Vac yesterday. I had done a lot of research online and although the cost of $ 50 was great, I liked not having to deal with Ni-Cd batteries. R rI I was very surprised to open the package and find that I still had to buy two VPX batteries and a charger. I returned to this page of the product and found that there is nothing 's here (now) that says that the batteries aren t ' is included. Amazon 's description in mid-sentence ends with "Contains. " Of the two reviews so far, an t ' cites the lack of batteries, and the other makes it sound like the batteries are included (at least for me ). R RSO, I have to wait another week or so to try his hand Vac reality. I can 't comment on how good he is, but I can say that ' s quite expensive, and I hope that others don 't make the mistake I made. R rI got two stars because I had to choose something, and seems well built. If I get this vac work and really love it, I 'll update the review to three stars, four maaaaaybe. I think I chose a solid product, but the cost and the "gotcha " are discouraging factor. R [r UPDATE 3/20/2009]: Batteries arrives, apparently in new condition. Like another reviewer, I 'm getting about 10 minutes of vacuum ' Every time from 5 hours to charge. Each charge cycle time has improved a little, I 've gone so far through three cycles. There is almost no warning before the batteries are fully discharge. The vacuum speed drops from 100% to 95% for just a moment, then she hangs up. R rI think 14V, hand vacuum cleaner $ 100 (including costs of battery) should run for at least 30 minutes on a charge of 5 hours, so I 'm going to try to get the battery replaced under warrantee. Maybe they were sitting on a shelf or in storage for a long time. The manual warns not to charge the batteries without guard dog causes damage, and arrived at no charge. For What It 's worth, the glue on all packaging VPX has been old enough to be fragile, too weak to hold together paper and cardboard during the decompression process. Hopefully new batteries have much better performance.

I love the tool VPX system (I Have them all)! This is the best of the bunch. I got it on sale for $ 12.99 at Menards. It 's terrific! Very Powerful suction for a cordless hand vac, easy to use and the onboard tools are very useful extra. The crevice tool is attached Also very convenient. Easy to clean. You will Need VPX two of the dual batteries and a charger for this, so it spenider Become a lot if you don 't Already Have the system. Very Impressive vac. Recommend.

The hand vac is Pretty powerful, not the powerful as a good plug in But Plenty powerful for Cleaning Out cars and Hard To Reach dusting. I use it a lot because it is so convenient. The run time is not very long, But it is not ment to take the place of a conventional plug-in. Can you get three to five minutes from the cartoon.

This thing is one of the best things ever! It may take 2 of the batteries to run but it is about 15 minutes solid vacuuming time and it has a great filtering system!

great product for those hard to reach the harvesting or cleaning the car or even sweep the floor after baby has eaten. Get it!

I have several of the biggest gaps VersaPak battery power and consumer-grade instruments hand. The original battery powered hand vacuums NiCad used, then they were transferred to the "" gold version were NiMH batteries. These drop-in each used two packages with a total of 6 sub C cells for a total of 7.4 volts. , That worked well but the tension was adequate but no more supply. The real vacuum (initial VersaPak) have been constructed using an injection molded hard plastic which meant, if he dropped the body or the battery hold down would break. R rthe but the design is similar to using batteries are held spring clip on the battery. R I rWhat really like is the built-in extension tool to narrow the gap to get into tight places. The integrated feature is a real plus accessories tend to separate because of tools like this. In addition, there is a clip that fits grooves extend to the nose of the cleaner. It is, along with a brush, are stored in the back of the cleaner. In general, the vacuum design is similar to older models, but most improved. R rthe of this battery-operated hand vac is the use of lithium ion batteries. These are small cells A123 1300 milliamp hours What are extremely robust and good for 1000 charges. Best of all is his burden argue for months, not days or weeks which are typically NiCad or NiMH. Nothing is more frustrating then want to use battery powered tools and when you want to use the battery needs recharging. VPX Charger takes longer than I like, but the magazine 's consumer standard grade. It is the shame 's because these batteries can be fast charged in 15 minutes with a more powerful charger. R engine rthe is a brushed motor it takes to enter, be a new motor needs to be used in pieces to get the most out of it.

The VPX Hand Vac is quite powerful and does a good job When the collection chamber is empty. However, there are dogs that sheds a lot, and fills the chamber quickly need to be emptied frequently. t that great that it isn 'a deal for easy emptying. Battery life is great and Not That One You barely kept two couches and a set of stairs before the battery died. Also, if one of the two batteries die the unit shuts off. Which means that if you don 't Have more than two batteries can ' t use your drill for a while and then hope to clean up the mess Whole without recharging the battery. All in all I am glad I own this as a small area and between the unit and my Roomba I can effectivly clean up any mess, but I do not recommend this product to others.

I received this Black and Decker vacuum as a holiday gift. At first, I thought this was a good successor to a history of cheap, ineffective hand vacs. However, after two charges, the Black and Decker battery charger ceased working. While this product is still under warranty, I am now going through a painful back and forth about replacement of the charger that involves Black and Decker and DeWalt. I 've searched for another charger to purchase, but I can only buy it in a package with other Black and Decker power tools. Why would I buy power tools that I can 't because of unreliable power battery charging? I don 't intend to buy more of this.

I bought this vacuum Simply 14.4 on my truck as a small clean-up jobs 't don warrant my dragging the large shop vacuum to keep the truck and into a customer ' s home. As an example, years, perhaps had I have a few small holes in gold wood drill drywall something fit and to get There 'sa little boring dust from the ground. Makes sense, right? R rRegrettably, then this is definitely not a hand vacuum cleaner for something other than normal ménage dust, hair and sometimes not worth large dirt particles. It 's, to be called a tool by "any stretch. Finer particles sail right through the VAC 's filter and directly into the engine and switch. On two occasions, one with some masonry drill dust, comme au drill with drywall dust, the vacuum just stopped working and the switch after about a minute of the operation bound. I had to dismantle a large part of it, blow it with compressed air to the dust From Within the vacuum and then some expensive non-conductive spray / Lube to save it and return to work. Now she is sitting idle most of the time and only used to pick up larger particles such as chips, chips, etc.. R RSO, I wasted about $ 95 total purchase it with the additional load / battery purchase and Yet Another single "battery. It 's simply not practical thinking or good design of B & D's hand in my opinion . Why should a 14.4 $ 40 hand vacuum cleaner, the then requires at least one load and two batteries - all to be purchased separately for another $ 55 - as part of an integrated tool system if the vacuum 's can motor, switch and filter design no minimum requirements to get up to the shop type of use? "Truly," one of the Dustbuster handheld Many types of rechargeable vacuum would undoubtedly have run well, if not better, and for much less than the costs. R rThis handheld vacuum "significantly more expensive clunker in otherwise creative and well thought out VPX line. Shame on B & D for the design and marketing of a handheld vacuum that does not stand up gold as it should," Perform. The advantage of lithium-ion batteries, which is alternately negated by built NiCad by their inefficiency. R rin direct contrast howeve, saw her hand 7.2V VPX is worth the $ 60 I paid for them, and that the burden of the price and a battery.

Black & Decker Dual Port VPX0320 Charger Black & Decker 7-Volt VPX Battery VPX0111 PackVpx Hand Vac rI was about to contact Black and Decker. Something has to be wrong. I fully charged the two batteries and inserted into the Vac. I ran it for five minutes, put the vac away, and ran it for five minutes a week later and the vac recharge light comes on. There are two expensive batteries fully charged, they can only run for two 5 minute intervals? If thats it, they should scrap this. Product rDon winans

I just got the hand vac and at first I must say that I bought for the first person who published the review raved about it. Unfortunately, I will return it. R rFirst off t Amazon didn 'mention any which has sold the batteries and charger separately, but it ' s not why I 'm returning this. Secondly, t stand out doesn this hand vac 'and works very similar to many others. Cyclonic Action Was Not An impressive as some others. Dirt and "stuff " still caught on the intake filter and the lens. RThirdly to 7volts (x2), which didn t 'would seem to amount to what a 14volt aspiration has not been impressive. Finally, the on / off switch has been quite difficult to work. My t wife could 'work, and this was his real reason for being returned.

I 've Had a number of black and decker products, usually very Competent tools etc.. They HAD versapak years ago. Can you still buy the system batteries for That But They no longer sell the vacuums (they HAD to handvac and the light duty floor vac) that cam briefly in October. I still Have one of the handvacs That Works Wonderfully But The versapak Being only 3 volts each (nicad and nimh batteries or later) Does Not Have the runtime Will Have the vpx. The vpx are tech lithium batteries Also That offer more stable output till the battery goes dry (ie not like NiCads That drop output till They 're dead These put out steady till They die). I 've got all the items except the vpx and saw the mid power screwdriver That ' s Between the light duty one and the drill (why would anyone buy the mid power screwdriver, just buy the stupid drill is only a little more and get more functionality, I Can See The Light screwdriver because it 'sa lot smaller and lighter than the drill). These I saw at Christmas When the local home depot Was clearing Them October I guess for the really professional These Can 't compete with the RYOBI etc. But for us folks home fix up the vpx are fine and in the case of the drill to offer Competing Amount of power for less money (at least the good as the 14 volt drill in the case of the drill and the lithium packs Should mean more run time with better output over the charge). I bought the vacuum because I Was afraid it would go south like the vacuum versapak did. It "seems to work very well and I like the built in tool edge and the two Other Tools That eats with it and fit in the back. For the price They Could Have included a wall hanger. I like the way the nozzle Has Been Redesigned on this unit on my older vacuum versapak Could you get stuff in It That clogged up the intake, this would Seem To the Preventing the better job of that. Also for the price They Could Have included an extra filter like the older versapak That you got two with. If They wanted to make this perfect They Could make it wet / dry Which Is Often what 's needed in a shop vac. Ryobi Has a cute wet / dry That Their uses 18 volt packs But since I don 't Have Any Other RYOBI it would cost me like 100 bucks to Have That and this vac I Already Have baterie for. I found the reverse marked down cheap at a local home depot so now I have two, That is also a great product it Has a USB port or a two prong AC port to charge cell phones, ipod, any device That Can charge over USB and any AC device up to 8W (low draw). This is a great system, I Was happy to see the local walmart carrying the batteries and devices so hopefully this one to see Will run longer than the product versapak had. This is a Useful item if you 've Already got other items in the system, the chargers are Intelligently designed so They Can Be daisy chained together for only one plug But you only get batteries and chargers with the drill or the screw drivers, Otherwise They 're all Separate batteries and chargers. Batteries charge pretty fast over an hour or two. If you need a home tool set this Will do you fine. Check out the local depots now because They Have batteries with chargers single marked down cheaper than you Can buy separately.

IMHO, VPX is a revolution in tool design. I Was so excited when i saw These tools. Has this system what I Consider to Be the best industrial design Can you find in the consumer tool market. I started with the inflator and since then I 've bought and tested all the components except for the Different USB / Invert. R rI find the tools to Have Plenty of Power and Its very Useful to Have a common battery as well as one thats ready to go When You need it! They Also take a lot less space than my old system tool Which always thought my wife took a lot of space. VPX My setup takes half the space and does more! This one is a keeper!
