Some of HAVING to buy "cleaning gutters " device and watch all they fail, I Do Expectations will be very low in the Looj. Why something so relatively Apparently the daily To So it's impossible to create a technology solution? R rthe design Looj actually quite simple. The Little footprint makes it possible to continue through the sewers un-level, and remote Is a very good range. Little man's sturdy and easy to assemble. R it rthe bad, to those with all other devices, it doesn t work '. Even close to the jobs. If You Have a perfect dry leaves in the gutter, yes ... if you run back and forth it II 'get it all finally Perhaps October r rif he runs into a big pile of leaves he "seems to fold some up, stall, or just went up from the leaf (Which is worse because it can fall out if the pile too high). What she won t 'is his job, What They throw the leaves out of gutters. R Rother from small throwing mud on my face to the edge of the "almost empty of the ditch, deleting almost no leaves ... But the contrast with the garden hose attachment to clean gutters or leaf blower 's gutter cleaning kit, at least Is it easy to assemble ... and unload ... and stay back in the box ... and add to the growing pile of failure.
Seriously, people - it 's Not Exactly difficult to charge for 15 hours. Just buy a timer, the kind you can use to turn the lights on and off when you 're away. Set it and go about your life when you 're ready to Looj battery will be too. If iRobot HAD more sophisticated battery included, the price would be even greater. Furthermore, as an early adopter, you must expect these little flaws - Some day you 'll be telling their grandchildren, "Back in my day, we had gutters. We had to put batteries in the gutter cleaning robots HAND. And we should rate them on a timer. "two years r rI Purchased for the Looj Because I have a section of gutter that is an absolute pain to clean - and dangerous too. It 's on the edge of a steep roof I can not climb, an area exceeding Where It ' s hard to get close to the gutter on a ladder. Bonus: it 's on an entire row of trees ailanthus This drop leaves, twigs, seeds and twigs. I'm 55 and owner single woman, and I make my home maintenance myself, so this look perfect for me. R rI just love it. It's not perfect, as other reviewers have said, but it's just so darn much fun. It wouldn 't be nearly as fun if it was automatic, you have to use it properly, like any other tool. Skill eat with experience. I always use it on a nice Saturday so that people walking by will to ask me "What is that thing? " R Spring rLast it stopped working. I had no problem at all with customer support, they sent me a new unit immediately after the Return I 'd old. I was very happy since I bought my refurbished Looj Woot! R rI just got done cleaning a "summer s worth of leaves, twigs and dirt out of the gutter section of evil. Instead of wearing myself out on top of a wobbly ladder, reaching more than my head to lift the debris out and in my head and my neck down, moving the ladder a dozen times, I enjoyed blasting out of the gutter by remote control while standing next to a section of flat roof. R rSometimes that I 'd Been to Back Looj When my ex convincing That was cleaning gutters once in five years the right to do whatever it is foremost in the form of tasks. I ' d been there with The Looj each month. But then, I was not going t 'had fun using it myself, and I could be married to that lazy bum yet.
It worked great only complaint had nothing to do with the Looj but with the nails holding my gutters. Some nails were placed in tubes so that the Looj could not succeed under the stairs and I had to move to reposition the Looj. He did flip a couple of times, but sometimes it would be fair to herself mostly because I was moving it to fast.If I inched forward and let it rest until the leaves removed and kept repeating this and it worked well went through some thick brush If the building were a little stiffer and had added a few more would be even better. The battery is what surprises me, I kept waiting to die, but ever. wouldn t 'purchasing another hesitates, but only about the price I paid.
I love this gadget! Well, have a reservation. If you have modern gutters with inside mounting, it's probably won 't done "in the media. My house is 35 meters wide with a groove on the front and back. Couldn ' t use it on the forehead as won 't made "under the gutter mounts. Has me two hours to clean the gutters by hand, what with the moving ladder and climb up and down. RMY Gütter is the back half long with old media below. It took me min 8 (yes, eight clean!) To gutter! Yeah, throws it crap everywhere. What Does anyone think will do Auger year? So the wet mud can dry them and sweep them. It rolled over a few times and was driving headlong, even with cleaning the gutters. I found by reversing the screw, I was able to tilt it back. My back is The Gutter, which I always hated to do by hand as I brought the ladder to the rooftops bumpouts had some of the first floor and a lot of dirt to reach the problem conditions. This makes it not only safe, objective way of fun.
IRobot Looj Gutter 12101 Cleaning electric robot r rLooj has been overcome by 3-year build up in the points, but the examination. I expect Pls do much better against an accumulation of 1 year.
I just finished cleaning my gutters with I, Robot. This challenge made the work easier and faster. I would estimate probably half the time maybe a little 'more because it was funny so I quickly assign didn t '. If you have the skills to control the vehicle remotely of this is a breeze to use. Here are two tips to keep the remote control against the eaves for the best signal, and you should tie a string to the unit where it stops though didn I 't A couple of drawbacks are that didn t 'spotless clean the gutters, but crunch on any remaining leaves in late enough that I could easily work out pipe. Finally, two brackets in the gutter on the back of the house where low inside the gutter so I had to take the robot and move it to the other side to continue the work. None of these problems would prevent me from buying this product. I can not wait to clean your gutters again already this fall, the more I called my friend to see if I can help clean up its spring.
Yes, the battery technology is old and dumb, yes, it does get stuck occasionally, but you know, it's casting waste out of your gutters. I did surf needles and leaves of Birch Leaves and my gutters are cleanish now. It doesn 't get the little rock in the corner that washes off your shingles composition But leaves, mud and needles fly. Move your vehicle and wear eye protection, crap flies everwhere. And don 't run it anywhere you can ' t Reach by stairs. But the sight of things going whacketa-whacketa-whacketa down your gutters is very interesting. And it will confuse your cats - That 's worth something. [...]
I operated a company in the Portland OR metro area That, Among other things, Cleanse gutters. Some gutters are impossible to reach others and Safely Can Be Reached only with expensive equipment. We decline Those jobs or May add the cost of scaffolding or a boom lift to the Proposal - All That for a gutter cleaning?! These are some of the situations That attracted us to the Looj. Our experience so far Is that it works satisfactorily if the operator is willing to spend A Few minutes to get to "feel " for the tool, ie, how fast to feed material, backing and filling operations, managing the antenna etc.. These considerations Given the Looj Met Our Expectations. The Looj is not a true robot, it is simply a remote controlled tool. If You Can Get Behind That Notion then you 'll be satisfied Likely. By the way, we clean the gutters are Often packed with watery goo and organic bits. They contain 'Basically composted leaves and fir needles. R rWhile the Looj does work, there is a downside. This tool flings debris Almost comical with mania. It makes quite a mess on the side of the building, neighboring buildings and the ground. The debris is easy to rinse off, But Is a Consideration if you are going to use it after the windows cleaned HAVING ago after a fresh paint job. In this regard ", think of your neighbors! That there are some gutters are too big, half round, I installed shingles That Partly cover the gutter, etc.. And The Looj can 't Solve These problems. Also, if you are thinking of using the Looj in, say, mid-August, i would bet the Looj That Would not Be Able to dislodge dry mud. You want things wet. All That Said, It Is To Have a useful tool in the arsenal. R rThis tool does not address The most common reason for a service call - to clog. Develop clogs in downspouts as a rule, not gutters, and the Looj can not go into a downspout. Clearing downspouts - Especially Those impacted with debris - Requires a different set of techniques and tricks. Many of These situations are dangerous houses in hilly locations. These are precarious That I Often Reaching a vantage point from Which you can view, operate and control the device Tends to Some require courage, 40 'ladder and definitely OSHA safety gear. Such gutters never Tend to get cleaned and the downspouts consequently never get cleaned. I know Those With Each rain gutters overflow. We have some additional methods for handling the downspout Safely part of the procedures But We Will Keep Those to Ourselves. As a business, we don 't Feel Threatened by the Looj at all. R r If you are considering the Looj for cleaning gutters That Are Relatively easy to reach, You Will Find That It Takes Much Longer to Clean Them With The Looj Than Just doing so by hand. And That does not include the cleanup Considerable time. The Looj does not Have quite enough battery life to clean all the gutters of an average sized house if gutters Those Contain the usual mix of Goo and wet organic material. The NiCad battery pack with charging ITS primitive procedures is a real drawback. Since this is a tool That Most home owners will use ounces per year or so, the NiCad batteries will not last very long As They Need to Be Cycled a generally more frequently. We devised a Different battery power arrangement that works much better and Would enable us to operate the machine Continuously if needed. However, we deploy only the Looj in Certain situations and in general, Our needs are Different from Those of a home user.
IS Purchased this item for my annual spring and fall gutter cleaning. Since it is winter in Chicago, my gutters are full of ice, snow, and I failed to clean up the last leaves fall. Trying to look forward to it soon. R r Assembly is easy, and I charged the battery to make sure it worked. It seems a little tough gadgets that should be up to the task. I really like the remote and reverse options. R r Sorry this review is no more result oriented, so if anyone wants a real review, let Mother Nature to give me a break and let me try it, and then I tell it like it is .
The product works well. It could use a little upgrading. Perhaps the most expensive models have. It does clean the gutters announced in October. The biggest drawback is the antenna '. If your gutter is held by long nails at the top of the gutter, the antenna can get them and sometimes made into the edge of the roof shingles too.
The reviews below are very good. R rI want to add that even with its peculiar hangups, flipping over, and plaster my car with some of the slime nasties known to man, the Looj did well on some of its potential. R rLet put me in this context. I can 't remember the last time I cleaned my gutters. I was surprised to find some plants growing in them. Moisture was frozen at the bottom of the gutter. I was obviously far beyond the intended function of Looj, and possibly even abuse them. R rI had to do a lot of gutter manually, but I was still able to get the job done much faster because of the Looj. I was usually the removal of dirt clogs ice. What is usually a long working 3-4 hours a day, was reduced to half an hour after all (less than clean my car below). R rthe only problem I had was that the range of the remote handle. It is not possible to avoid pressing the antenna during operation Looj. I found the handle physically putting the gutter, the transmission interval has gone much further. R rit is not completely clean the gutter, but removed all debris from it. I am pretty sure that if I continue with it, I'll be able to keep my gutters clear with minimal effort. Spray down, or wait until the next rain will have the remains of the gutter slime. R rI want to add that it is so funny to see what to do.
So I read a mix of good and bad reviews and was inspired to add a perspective and some suggestions. First perspective: My gutters are cleaner after Looj after I do them by hand, so score one for the Looj! Some tips: r-there is a small ring on the back of the tie Looj ... a long piece of rope to it so you can pull the Looj a little 'back when it crashes or turns on r gunk-try directions alternating direction of rotation to break the crud in the r-gutter remember that I quoted string ? tie a ring around the antenna so it can move that if it crashes into something (my gutters are barely big enough for me so Looj this happens a lot.
We live in a wooded area so that our Eaves are full of leaves, twigs, seeds, etc.. t Looj wouldn go a foot in one of our Eaves before turning and more. I followed all the advice, but in vain. There may well have worked if all the leaves have been encountered there - and if I cleaned the eaves more than once or twice a year. Big disappointment and a total waste of money for me. (
This is the second year I've been using this tool is good. One of my neighbors always come to this machine to watch the action. He did an incredible job of cleaning Gutters and make sure I don t 'have to keep moving the ladder. Ditch the old me is approximately 40 feet, and usually have a certain amount of water under the leaves. With very little effort, Looj plow through the worst, throw water, leaves and debris into the soil. This will, on occasion, flip top, but it always rights itself and continues on the road! R ri. Don t 'to understand some of the critical review of the Looj. As with anything, it takes a little patience to learn how to operate it. After learning, it should work unless, of course, there is something wrong with the technical units.
I have a Roomba too. So I think that 's "give it a go. My feeds are really high and move a lot of work is an strips. This PC trash Do not move more than 2 feet before I gave up. Don t waste 'your money. It ' s not even worth 1 star.
I wrote about the Looj, the Gutter Cleaning Robot from the makers of the Roomba, about to months ago. How excited there for a robot for cleaning gutters? Re R was waiting for it to show up at the sound of the local Lowe s 'might look hands-on, before I bought it, but had fallen on me again and I had to clean gutters. R re found for $ 99 at Amazon with free shipping. Amazon has a great and simple return policy, so I went for it. Showed in a beautiful box and the bugs I unpacked with great anticipation. The unit is very simple - a battery pack (NiCad, interesting), Auger attachment for rubber, a remote control that locks the main body, and a charger. It comes with a carrying case belt, if you really want to geek out. Use before the charge cycle is quite long so I will be charged one night and IT and I thought that my son could give it a go the next morning. Re R have a bigger house, about 1966, although the garage was rebuilt in 1990 after a fire. My first stop was the garage, which is built on a hill, so that 's very easy to set the Looj into the Gutter to the rear and make any adjustments. I kept in mind one of the comments on Amazon - "make sure you keep your mouth shut when you start it " - blech! The constant pleasantly Looj in the gutter, which had a good layer of pine needles Rotting in it. Two tread on the bottom and the remote control you can go back and forth, and adjust the direction of the Auger. R THINGS rTwo that the effectiveness of disk Looj: r r1) Gutter bracket height - the Looj is very low profile (2.25 ), but if your brackets are bent or blocked then the 'have a problem. r r2) Gutter Width - iRobot now has a model on their site for you to measure oneself, but the Looj works only if the lower flat of your Gutter is at least 25.3 "wide. R ri didn 't have a garage to the problem - the Looj worked well. He made a huge racket and mess, but it was fun for both. Gave my car a good slasher. You have to go back and forth to really get the stuff out, but it works. R ri Wasn 't so lucky in the main house with point # 2. They still had old gutters and didn t 'have the width I needed. The Looj didn 't sit flat on the bottom and SO didn' t have the traction he needed. If it 's is not in a level position will also turn over in the gutter. If I could 't use on my house and I could ' t keep it. Fiberglass ladder r r new 22 'will run over $ 200. Moreover, it 's dangerous. If your gutters are wide enough I would definitely get a Looj and give it a go. If it doesn t work 'for you then return policy Amazon.com is easy - just pack, slap on a return label and re ' did. Moreover, it 'sa fun thing to do with your child! R riRobot Looj Electric Gutter Cleaning Robot # 12101
I had a Roomba for 2 years and I love it. It keeps the dog hair on the carpet. I love my cleaner iRobot, much less work and more effective than the previous. I can not say the same for sewer cleaner. It is poorly designed and poorly executed. R1. You have to take the battery and charge exactly 14 hours. R2. Clean an area and put in 1 / 3 to 1 / 2 gutter.Despite full swing backward and forward and reverse auger clean only half the debree which was not yet tight. R3. I'm constantly pulling in both directions and hung up in the gutter antenna vertical supports. R4 . It is completely ineffective, more trouble than it was. I ended up doing the job at hand. R RBY my calculations, a total failure and an unwise additions to the baseline iRobot. R Rjim Jacksonville Beach, Florida
The iRobot Looj Electric Gutter Cleaner is an excellent way to make sure the gutter cleaning. It is a very robust tool has made my job of cleaning difficult spots much safer. In addition, he ate in a lot of dirt built more than months HAD. R laughs is also a great price for a very good tool. R rCautions for users are: r 1) The Looj can bind if the gutters have strings in them (eg, the son of the cable) or alumninum bend it. If it does get stuck, it 's easy to get out, but you ll ' t have to climb on the roof or use the ladder. I tried to add the string to it that could recover if stuck, but got caught a couple of times. R2) tends to return if the debris is thick. But that 's Ok - the c ' is symmetric. It 's easy to keep using the opposite direction to the training tracks. Lock T R3) doesn handle easily - allowing lower when taken to scale - use the belt hook!
This is really, really works! I put it in my gutters and things that really works. It would be nice if it would turn the corner, but for the most part, I am very impressed with the work it did and so did my neighbors! Rif you tie a string behind it, then you can take it if it flips or gets stuck inside.
The ground slopes around my house to varying degrees, making the setup of the day-to-day activities of a ladder, and (with the two-story construction) of drainage cleaning work somewhat more dangerous than I 'd like. Always thinking, and interested in Protecting our home and my life, my wife got me the Looj for Father 's Day. R Ri finally got around to using it this Past weekend - the delay in part because many Failure to properly plan ahead for 15-hour charge. t R Ri had 'the gutters cleaned in quite a while - almost a year. They were 't packed full of gunk, But they are pretty full - some place filled to the brim. I chose Lowest section of canal for the test pilot, climbed the stairs, put the Looj in a place I deleted by hand, and (Remaining on top of the stairs so I Could See What Was going to matter) put it LL admit to the work. R Ri 'I Was a bit surprised by the strength in Which it scattered debris in my face, But I learned quickly to keep my mouth and closed eyes When starting it. And then it went away, cleaning gutters. R Ri Carefully watched it - when it seems to be riding up on something, or Starting slow, I 'd back and take it off one more run. Within three minutes, the canal is clean. R rBut honest, Canada That Was Easy - Located away from trees, It Was probably the cleanest stretch of all. The real test next meat - 30 feet of very * * get clogged canal. R rBut again, the Looj had no real problems. 11:00 When it got stuck I was overly aggressive and jammed between the wizards' a bunch of debris and feed canal (causing me to Have to save it) and got stuck antenna Obstacles to keep their times (but the Looj back and working it freed Statement). It also flipped over two times or 11 o'clock, But That didn 't seem to adversely affect the performance STI - was forward reverse, but it will keep the antenna out of harm ' s way. Fifteen minutes Later, There Was a ton of garbage in the yard, and almost nothing in Canada. R kilo of the rest of the gutters is easy. R Ri 'd recommend the Looj to anyone who has a Hard Time Keeping Their gutters clean - "Because Of You uneven ground, fear of heights, lots of trees, lack of time, or fairly limited maneuverability ( Often eaten as age). In Looj (and a halter), you only really need to set-up, and get up, the stairs every 11 straight stretch of canal. That makes me very happy. R ri I recommend the light, Because There are few times I thought I Was going to Have to save the Looj (Although it freed itself all but once). R also recommed staying on top of the ladder stand it if You Can, Because it Helps to be very alk to see What's Looj is up Against What position and it 's in R Ra few minor Difficulties aside, I Have to say that I m ' Very pleased with the Looj. I 'm really looking forward to cleaning the gutters Fall Again.
I moved recently in a home with a high side, located in a pine grove. Denied the gutters a major issue because of this high side. This machine works great. Other reviews I read and recommend someone tying a string to the end just in case it gets stuck. But I did that the machine never got stuck, it just worked way down the drain STI move everything out of its way. No problem What so ever. The battery is Different than most cordless tools now But Was no problem at all. Charged overnight and had more power to make the hole house with a bunch of test runs just to watch it go. machine RThis is an absolute life saver I love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is nothing robotic about this product ... is simply a radio controlled rotating brush. I tried a trough in which the necessary cleanup and immediately began to turn. I had to turn (for remote), change the direction of the spinning brush to put it right side up, change the direction that he throw away the leaves and carry on. It took about 20 minutes to go about 8 feet. I could train a squirrel to go faster. And at the end of 20 minutes, the brush was already showing signs of severe wear. It 's on his way back!
After full charge, I have cleaned most of my channels (about 80 feet) before retiring at night. I recharged the battery. R rNext days , I put the battery. No response. R light REL the robot is green. REL remote control light is green and blinks when information is sent. R REL robot doesn 't answer. R riRobot and suggests changes everything and recharge batteries. Still doesn t work ', iRobot and no longer responds to my questions in search of help. R ri iRobot own three, but this is the first time I 'try customer service. Is nonexistent.
Reading the comments of this product that other clients expected seems that this little robot to detect when the gutters were full levitate the gutter, cleaning them, Powerwash the siding and then float down to a charger. Really? R rFiction hand, this little robot works very well. My gutters are very narrow and juuuuuuuuuust Looj fits in the track. The last cleaning was quite complicated because * I * let it sit for a long time. I have two lips on my ginormous backyard and had a ton of helicopters in the gutters. Filled to the brim, and I was little maple seedlings sprouting. I am not owner Harry ". R rI made a hole for the Looj, he fell in and out to the races we went. You exercise your brain to use the Looj. If you look at it starting to turn in one direction - to reverse the right direction auger and myself. 9 times out of 10 that I would get a "list" Because of a collection of particularly nasty gutter crud. Backing out of the unit, with some passages in that section gutter and your ready to move on. R rLooking Looj in design - this thing should be clear that flings out of the gutter-stuff the runway. The stories that hit the sell houses, I 'd say that You need to d be within 10 feet of another house actually has a problem. If so, then you have problems Sale - and thanks for contributing to suburban sprawl, live in McMansions Grove. R rthe También remote is the handle, and I 'm happy remove it. Note that any conductive trough your best bet is to fix the limit of the chute on the remote itself. The remote constantly sends instructions to the Looj, and if possible 't he get the moves. So if you notice your Looj stopping and starting, chances are I HAVING ' s issue "listen " on the remote. Put the remote edge of the gutter and I agree 'll back up. R RAS another reviewer mentioned, the gutter will run over a happy experience, as this thing is essentially a torpedo, and as said before not levitate trough to the next track. R rBattery Life : The battery is good. Just toss it into the charger and get it the next morning, when you want to attack your gutters. This isn t something 'like a Roomba that each week you will use. The Looj get drafted into the service a few times a year in spring and autumn - so Designed Keeping in mind dealing purpose STI STI great twist the two screws into the battery compartment waterproof and dig up the battery to charge. r rClean up : As easy as advertised. So much easier to clean after I dig out the crud last time I did the Gutters by hand. Yuck. R rService life: I think that all your going to get out of the auger is a year of life. Beat the leaves, seeds and gutter crud of a half pipe metal is hard on the drill. Expect to dole out $ 20 - $ 30 dollars each year for a new auger head.
It would work great if it would fit under my gutter straps. Amazon is the greatest pleasure in the world to buy anything. They Gave me because i dont have to re-establish at leaset 2 "clearance for the looj to fit under my straps. If I had the clearance I would give the next looj 5 stars. Go and Measure before buying.
