I used to dread vacuuming, mostly because i 'd have to drag out the old monsters Dirt Devil Breeze. It was heavy and it only sucked up what i thought it would. When the DDB died, my husband and I figured it would be worthwhile to invest in a good vacuum cleaner - we wanted to turn a new leaf (clean regularly) and get something easy to use and is effective. The DC24 completely impressed and amazed me. It picked up the white dust in between the cracks of our wood floor carpet that our cheap Ikea had left before we threw it out a month earlier. The parts are super easy to clean (2 reusable filters, removable for cleaning bristles), it 's so light, looks great, and sucks up even fine powder. sound, sound worth it. I use it twice a week, only because i want to see what it would pick up that I Couldn 't see with my bare eyes.
First of all, it is a more reliable and well made vacuum, in comparison Cheapo Dirt Devils, Eurekas, Bissells, and Hoovers of the world. What do you shake your head, some simple refinements can be made this machine a real winner. R rApparently, the vacuum manufacturing companies conspire to make their products fall short of complete customer satisfaction in one aspect or another, insuring that customers are each finding their whole lives for Perfect vacuum ... and therefore buy at least one or more from EVERY company during their life on land, guaranteeing that each company will remain in business forever. A brand is a bad motors, another has-busting noise loudness, one has cheap parts, there is another trivial attachments, etc.. etc. r rThe weakness of this machine are: r1) Power cord is far too short. 20 foot cord should be extended at least 25 feet. R2) The red on / off switch is surprisingly poorly designed. Because it is recessed in a vertical cavity in front of the machine, you "think sige " before pressing for both on or off. Any other that a fully vertical point your index finger toward the floor, results in a sticky feeling, which resulted in a NO RESULTS .. and a more thought-out carefully the "Re-press the " is required to turn the machine on or off. If you right hand must reach around the front left of the stick, and try your luck. Lefties might fare better. When the phone rings, you can 't just flip it right off. R3) The red foot pedal (to remove the handle from the vertical position) is also Balky, and often require a second or third press your toes to start vacuuming "celebration of fun ". R rThe actual vacuuming is good for MAIN COURSE. Dyson but it is especially appeal to those who enjoy an appetizer of un-plugging & re-plugging, with repetetive finger and toe pressing for dessert. Perhaps the Olympics should add "marathon vacuuming " in their menu of events! R rPardon me while I go out to try to diagnose the "electric starter " my snowblower, which has malfunctioned, after spending $ 200 to repair the choke / carbuerator assembly. Of couse, the warranty has expired, as before. Snow tomorrow night! R rLou G. NY
I heard a lot of good things about Dyson and had many good reviews here and elsewhere, so I took a photo. I 've been using a rainbow of the last 15 years and so far there is nothing better, except the price. I like the Dyson, which is light and nimble and easy to operate. What impresses me is not sucking. The DC24 is not very powerful at all, it requires several passes over the carpet.
I LOVE this vacuum. It 's super-small (much smaller than my previous Eureka Optima) but still super-powerful. R rit works exactly as stated in the advertisement. Like all Dyson, there 's definitely a learning curve when it comes to understanding how to remove and attach to its various parts, but it ' s easier to use wider than previous models. R Ryes, the container is small and fills up quickly, however, if the reason I have to keep emptying the box because of how much dirt it 's able to suck effectively and efficient, so be it.
This vacuum cleaner is great. It 's light weight. It handles easily. And, best of all it really Cleans. It seems designed with users in mind. All the critical controls and switches are colored red. It empties easily. It 'sa wonderful product.
I 've been with the vacuum that my parents bought me, to go 15 years. It 'working ' in the sense that he took the obvious things, but the bags to meet a constant hunt. A friend of mine bought a Dyson a few months before and was raving about how much material was being sucked into the little box that he didn 't even realize it was embedded deep in your carpet. Finally, I gave up my vacuum and recently purchased the Dyson DC24 and Target. I was tempted to buy the largest capacity, DC25, but especially since I have wood floors and a few carpet a room, I opted for smaller DC24. R RI was initially skeptical because of the weight and size, but once I used it, I loved it. A carpet great aspiration, won a nearly full box! There were all kinds of things there that I had no idea was incorporated into the carpet, and this isn 'ta plush carpet! Amazing, bottom, suction, quiet (even my cat can handle me vacuuming, as it 's in the same room now), and in my opinion, brilliantly conceived. I agree with others that mentioned the length of the cable is very short, but that 's because I have an extension cable. Problem solved. I 'd buy another Dyson in a heartbeat and would definitely recommend it to friends. I say spend the extra money for the first time and will be the last time you need.
I have 3 kids, a dog and 2 cats (and a husband) to clean up after. We had looked at the Dyson before, but were hesitant to shell out the money. When my old vacuum started Spitting dirt and dog smell back out onto my feet and repeatedly getting clogged with pet hair, I went to get a Dyson. I purchased the blueprint model of the DC24, it was on sale, it's the same thing and (bonus!) Not bright yellow. r ri brought it home, took it out of the box and in a few minutes I was vacuuming. I expected excellence, especially over the old dirt-spitter, and it really delivered. I can 't believe I waited so long to get this vacuum, it ' s everything I expected and more. It has great suction and is very light-weight we have 3 floors with carpet and hardwood, and LOTS of stairs - not a problem carrying around this guy, or switching from brush (carpets) to non-brush) mode - the button is right on top. The flat floor attachment that 's included is okay, I could live without it. It gets under the low furniture, but I find it 's easier to just use the wand by itself. R ri read some other reviews where folks said the brush stopped working. I don 't know if this is the magic answer for everyone, but the brush will shut off if you get long hair or pieces of lint / string around the brush. It actually does what vacuums SHOULD do - it stops instead of burning the motor. You have to turn off the brush and vacuum mode, untangle the culprit from the brush, and then push the reset button next to the brush. I 've had to do this a couple times, and brush again worked just fine. R rHere ' s my summary: r ri wanted a vacuum that: 1) would pick up pet hair 2) would get under furniture 3) could be carried up and down stairs & vacuum them easily. ri 've got all those things with the Dyson. The ease of emptying the dirt compartment is a HUGE plus for us. My 10 year old daughter loves to use this vacuum because of the light weight and ease of dumping dirt. R rComplaints: r rThe cord is too short. It 'sa little irritating, especially going up and down staircases. RThe attachment tubing is too short. This is a problem when using the attachment on higher things, like blinds and ceiling corners. R rOverall - GREAT vacuum. I 'm happy with my purchase and think it ' s well worth the price.
This is a great vacuum. Easy to use, lightweigth, Canister and easy to empty. Love it!
It makes me squirm angry when I saw the commercial. A friend of mine worked for the company when Dyson dedicately build a factory in England until he had followed all the other benefits of greed and outsourcing companies to China .... DONT BUY!
Just ordered the DC24. It 's first job was to clean the needles of Christmas tree behind. In 1 minute (yes, really), it became clogged. I spent over an hour trying to find a way to access the intake tube in vain. I was finally able to relieve congestion by changing several times on and off the suction and holding the machine upside down and shaking vigorously as he ran. He finally spits a small group of needles and began to work again. For 1 minute. Rather than go through this exercise fun again, I spend my time packing this up. Verdict: If you have aspirations of dust, look for another product. While my most intimate inspection of the aircraft revealed that they come with some clever ideas in engineering design, Dyson has lost sight of what should be a vacuum pick up dirt! REPICA FAIL.
It 's non-self is like taking a weight of five pounds that dredging through and the carpet. The rod attachment is clumbsy on it, you can use extended throughout its length. If you have something more closely, he seems to bend the pipe since the wall is inside the pipe. You should wash all compartments yielded takes a long time. He seems to buy great works terrible. I returned within thirty days, thats how much it sucks.
I love this lightweight, easy-to-maneuver vacuum. Granted, I live in a fairly small apartment but I Have a cat and this thing just sucks up hair and dirt. I have back problems and 11 pounds "Monster " has solved my problem with cleaning. But the best part is the ease of use. I don 't understand • Most things about the machine, But it Was so easy to use. And the help from Dyson is great. Overall, this is a pricey item however can see the amount of ounces take it. Plus, the manufacturer provides a great warrenty.
I bought this item on October 2009. I thought all the talk up would give me a quality vacuum. The carpet cleaning button does not work after a month of work. The cable is too short and falls in October, the suction was very, very dissapointing. I use my vacuum cleaner twice a week. I would not recommend this vacuum seriously. I will admit, advertising attracted me and I thought I was really a quality product of the machine.
Great vacuum. Its light weight and smaller and much travel. This is not as big as most Dyson models Exspensive but equally good. Im glad I bought this vacuum. No dissapointment so far.
My family has always been strong supporters of the Dyson brand. My parents first bought a Dyson upright and discovered in 1995 and was the first vacuum cleaner that I've never really met. We moved from the UK to the U.S. and the void left by my brother who still uses with excellent results. Ri'd marry the wonders of DC 24, but I think the positive reviews that really void of justice. I like the intake (as expected you get a really deep cleaning), the maneuverability is great, features like the opening of the bin bottom, the floating head that adjusts from carpet to hard floor easily, and Stop Bar Car brush are very smart as it protects the vacuum motor and the item stuck in it. This vacuum is fantastic and has a well thought-out design. Ras An important note: This vacuum is not for the great outdoors. If you have a smaller place (as many have noted, it 's great.) Go for the larger model if you need more capacity in the bin or have premises large. This t also isn 'in an animal model ' s not quite give the same performance in highly populated families. Ri find some strange criticism because most problems seem to arise because the DC 24 isn 't be used for ' s place for small functions. Detergents RVacuum weren t 'was invented to take the big stuff, you bend down and pick it up or use the tube. The vacuum sucks dirt and things that can 't be blown away, it isn ta ' Broom. Ras, are inconsistent, I don 't believe. Our old Dyson is still strong and I trust that this, too. All vacuum systems are made with large quantities of plastic parts and all assume the same risk use, care for the machine and will reward you with long life ... is invested with a machine and won t. 'They aren ' t designed to break and if they do it 's, or because that particular unit is defective or the owner did something stupid (most often the latter.) Rthe end What I would like to address is the HEPA filter . Complain about cleaning a filter once a month seems a bit 'pedantic. These filters last a lifetime and save you a ton of money on replacements (as well as waste). Dry through once in a while, as I m 'every two months is fine for lighter use, is no more Than bother buying gas for the car. Ri is a student in a small house and this serves my needs Exceptionally well. I used this vacuum to my friend 's house that has six cats and two big dogs. We found that although small, is really get the dog hair and dirt stuck in, you can only 't move as easily as the cable is a bit' short for their larger home.
I bought a refurbished Dyson Ball Model DC24 for $ 300-Referb it has a 6 month Factory Warranty - It Was on a whim without doing the research-I Was an expensive experiment - I know before my wife opened the box we Went on Amazon my favorite site for customer reviews - I read the 5 1 Stars and the stars as well as the 3-stars reviews Today we Decided to keep the unit and I opened the box and set up the Vacuum - It Is Which plastic is light weight and easy to use - Looked a little cheep Compared To Our 25 year old Kirby. rit is very quite and it does a great job cleaning - The cord is a little short (20 ft) per common Complaint our house is 1800 sq ft. Every room has an outlet I vacuumed a room it When We Had To move the cord - Easily solved with a 10ft extension cord - The canister filled QUICKLY - Bad Thing to Have to change after very room - But It showed just how much dust, dirt, dog hair and the old Kirby WAS missing - our carpets are much cleaner Which is a good thing! I am very pleased with it - our family room is small 15 x 18 ft I Could Watch TV When the new Dyson vacuum on WAS - This is a first, for the old Kirby is just a little bit quieter Than 747 at take off - I am glad we got it - I give it 4.5 stars - The thing cords Keeps it from a full 5 stars But glad we bough it. - Amazon has only whole star system to know That 's why I Gave it a four But It is really 4.5! RDyson DC24 Ball All-Floors Upright Vacuum Cleaner
I just vacuum it borrowed from a friend to see how it worked before buying one. I won 't buy it. First of all, the cord is too short, and my older home with some outlets I had trouble reaching everything. Also, it does not take anything little more than dust and dirt. It failed to pick up some quarter-sized dried flower buds (just pushed around it) and did not take guinea pig hay at all, even after adjustment mechanism had ground it seems. Good general hardwood floor dust and dirt, though, and easy to empty. Certainly it is not worth the cost.
I am a firm believer in the phrase "you get what you pay for " and after getting burned Several times it cheaper models of various appliances, I Decided to spring for the $ 400 Dyson. Big mistake. Here are my chief complaint: (1) The brush turns on and off on ITS Own Agreement, (2) It Takes Several passes over a single spot to Effectively clean the area, (3) The cord IS Extremely short, (4) The toggle power button and brush are not very responsive, and (5) It quit working after Approximately Three Months.
I bought this vacuum for my mother last year (2008) for Christmas. I lived out of town and was told that she liked. But when I approached I noticed recently that he was using an old Hoover that sounded like a jet engine instead of broken polished Dyson I bought her. When I asked, she was reluctant to say anything about the poor empty for fear of offending me. R Wasn rit 't until I started using the vacuum that everything became clear. Stylistically, I give this vacuum and A +, functionally give a D-. Although Dyson 's credit intake are fairly accurate, otherwise the gap is so terrible that I can not t ' I think there are so many people who give them high marks. R rPro 's r --- - r r-picks up pet hair and fine particles. I know because I have to empty it after every use in every room. R-Easy to maneuver around objects. R-No Per others' s. .. r rcon 's r - --- r rr-No Flimsy plastic height adjustment on the head. Instead of picking up a Cheerio, just pushing around. R Friction-fit of the pipe that goes from head to body is dislodged and excavated during the execution of kitchen cabinets along. Cordon R-short and non-automatic coil. R-Small dust bin and very messy to empty. As I mentioned before hearing the pet becomes clogged after every room, and I reach in and pull my hair out. (I vacuum every two days.) R can not vacuum under a bed or low cabinets. R-Vacuuming area rugs small is an exercise in frustration. R-Have to reset the roller head away often. R-Super-high price for all these problems. R rPersonally, I have a Sears Kenmore vacuum 2 pieces and had it for 5 years and no complaints. Sears will continue to use for myself and try something better for my mother. Dyson will be the first on craigslist too long. R note RSIDs r ---------- r ref is re 'unique live a life without children or pets clean and vacuum daily this may void * Suite is good.
Good product, works very well, even small ones. Even if the work is impressive for the price.
What I can say but what they say in business is TRUE. I got to buy one of these over a year, was just a little more than I wanted to spend. It works great, lightweight, easy to navigate and clean. Grab. In fact it 's one of those things You Are So I'm glad you bought. The only improvement I think they could do is make the ropes some more. Otherwise, it 's 10.
I thought I was buying a vacuum GREAT but I can 't stand it. Every time I vacuum I get mad I spent money on this terrible vacuum. It won 't pick up any little thing off of my hardwood floors such as cheerios or popcorn kernels. I vacuum and then go back and pick up things scattered by hand. Serious? RWE just had our hardwood floors redone two weeks ago. Yesterday my terrible Dyson put long, white scratches on my dining room floor. This is fine in my carpets and stairs (with a runner) but it is completely worthless for anything else. Cleaning the filter is too messy and the cord is short so I 'm constantly re-plugging it in. I ' m not sure it even deserves a star ...
The vacuum works very well, but worth it? NO! It 's incredibly heavy. I 'm exhausted after using it. Give me a good old vacuum bag at any time instead of inhaling the dust flies everywhere Pls to flush the tank. And worst of all, you can never get the pieces back together again after dismantling the handle to use the accessory extension. If I had to do it again, I 'd save my money and live with less suction power.
I love this lightweight vacuum! I HAVE SEVERAL DIFFERENT TYPES floor in my home and love how easily this transition from vacuum to carpet Hardwood and performs equally well. The suction is phenomenal and noticed an immediate difference in quality compared to my last cleaning vacuum brand. Very lightweight, easy to manuever, and excellent performance makes this a 5 star product!
I love this machine. I have eight indoor cats and a lot of hair, are spotless after a short whip around my floors. It is quiet, efficient, lightweight and a perfect size for my 1.500 sq foot home. As far as I'm concerned, there is no draw back, and those who complain ... Well, they have something to complain I guess Have!.
