My wife and I have owned this product for two years now, and we had explored other options before committing to this. We bought the product based on recommendations from a friend (who had owned one for 20 years), but for us, barely fits our needs: r rCons: r1. Very heavy. It has a handle for easy transport of these up and down the stairs, but it is still complicated. R2. pipe connection is delayed. As another review mentioned, you have to take head out to install the pipe. This makes cleaning very boring, and I miss the ease of the Simply disconnect the hose Where to find the head is not right and continue on. R3. Unnecessary accessories. A big selling point is the attachment shampoo, bubble maker, sprayer, blower, etc.. We have never used them. Change oil in my car is easier than installing the attachment shampoo, and when I think of spraying bug spray around the foundation, my sprayer, not a vacuum cleaner. Attachments only we have frequently used the attacks to traditional vacuum. R4. Belts / bags are hard to find / replace. The Kirby store in our area closed years ago and is hard to find bags and belts (which do break - we're there 'our Replaced 3 times in 2 years). Change the bag can be messy. We have a large dog with long hair that fills the bag in a hurry. R5. Big / bulky. The unit is very large, so if you have a Limited wardrobe / storage space, this may be the factor. Consider also taking the stairs. We have a deceleration until halfway, and the tube is long enough for us to get all the stairs. If you have straight stairs, you'll 'Have a park Kirby at the top or bottom and go as far as possible. The unit is too big to fit on the stairs, and is too heavy to carry. R6. Price. The unit is very expensive for what it does. We could have bought Dysons or 2-3 or Orecks SIX Navigation Shark at the same price. We still bought 2 other empty since then - smaller, cheaper models to guide rehabilitation, etc.. t Thus, the "Last is empty 'll never need to buy " claim has no merit. R rit certainly has a lot of suction, and after two years, we haven 'noticed, if dropped. I suggest that if you are considering buying one, find a friend who has one and borrow a few weeks to see if it suits your needs. While Don 't think we ' screwed "by buying it, we wish we could have tried other brands / types first to see if better suited to our needs. And finally, you can own a ranch style home so we won 't have to do with the stairs. I m 's secure Kirby' power and other features be most appreciated. I bought a new Kirby last year and does a great job. It has suction so powerful, you can almost see Lift the carpet off the floor. With units of the car is very easy to push the carpet. You can do it with one finger. It has an attachment for virtually any cleaning job you want, including washing their carpets. R rI think my biggest complaint is that you need to get the front to attach and use the hose. This is really inconvenient when you want to get footers. Or you finish vacuuming, then change the hose attachment in each room and go around again and do the baseboards. Or you have to change it, while in each room and back. R Complaint Rémy second is the weight of the machine. It 's hard for a woman to carry up and down stairs, or to use to clean the mattress. R ref you don t mind 'to call back, this machine cleans like no other and should last a lifetime with few repairs.
