The broom itself is probably fine, but the handle is so bad and separates from the broom head that I don 't been able to use it effectively. I 'll have to go buy a new handle and hope it fits. Grrrr.

I usually avoid the kind of infomercial products like the plague, but I decided to try this broom out after hearing it praised so highly in Ellen Sandbeck 's book Organic Housekeeping: In Which the Non-Toxic Avenger Shows You How to Improve your health and that of the Family You, While You Save Time, Money, and, Perhaps, Your Sanity. Well, color me impressed! R rthe broom has a large head and a telescopic handle, which means a fairly widespread in full length and very compact in the shortest length. In fact, one of my few complaints is that the head might be a little too big for my taste - a model that is slightly smaller might work better in the kitchen, with this size a little better suited to the basement or outside job. The telescopic handle good, you just turn to tighten or release. I found that if I 'm not careful when I ' m sweep, I 'll winding accidentally took part (that ' s the technical term for it!), And the collapse of handle. R rSweeping with this broom is AWESOME! Well, as wonderful as can be swept ... One problem I always have with ordinary broom is that dog hair would go flying happily on the floor, making it difficult to get every last bit. But with a rubber broom, Tend to clumps of hair in a neat little pile. Sweep also works well on carpet - useful when I go to get their pet's hair, but don 't feel like dragging out the vacuum. R rI 've also used a broom to mop, with good results. I have been using the Swiffer Wet Jet, with good results, but getting expensive refills, and I feel bad about the amount of waste I create. Now I just use some rubber bands to attach the old, wet hand towel into a rubber broom. It works great, and the best part is that it 's easy to take off the towel and put a fresh one, so you ' re not just spread the dirt on the floor. I also found that the rubber broom / towel combo seems a little soft floor cleaner than Swiffer pads - very useful if you have large dogs and toddlers who like to waste food. (Bonus - I mop more often now, because I don 't worry about the "throw " my Swiffer pads!)
