I received the vac model CHV1408 B & D as a Christmas gift. It 'was intended to replace the DB 700, with two rechargeable batteries, I've used for years. Since it was a gift, I had to put back into service immediately. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with his performance. First, it 's heavier than the older model. Secondly, just doesn 't have the power to pick up the old model. Now, after trying to use the CHV1408 for several months, I 'm taking out of service and to restore' DB700 old "mini-Vac preferred status'. RAnother point to consider is that the battery is NOT a bitch CHV1408 easily replaced with the older model, it takes a couple of VersaPak 3.6V batteries that are readily available and easily replaced. Rémy suggestion - save your money. Don 't buy CHV1408 model.
