The service hit 2.6 million users at the second August, from 725 000 in March. The launch of the Facebook sites, which many thought would bring about the startup's demise resulted instead in the biggest day of registrations ever, CEO Dennis Crowley, who recently revealed.Given Foursquare That a little more than 3:02 million users now appears, may we determine that it is more than 15.500 visitors per day (a little less than 18.000 per day Crowley told the LA Times last week), or almost half a million visitors per month.Although already rapidly growing, this set is very well now pick up the Foursquare has taken over Times Square. Too Few Women In Tech? Stop Blaming Men. Or at least Stop Blaming Me
The success of Silicon Valley, most would agree, is more oriented to almost anywhere in the world of Merit. No matter how old you are, what sex you are, what you support policy or what color you are. If the idea rocks and can run, you can change the world and / or get really stinking rich. Mostly I sat on the sidelines with the years I went to the endless debates about how we must do more to encourage more women to start businesses. I mean sat on the sidelines is this Well, now havent really said what he felt. Now I'm a. Heres why. Yet another article, this time in the Wall Street Journal, has an opportunity for us and others for not doing enough to help women in technology. Says Rachel Sklar, a perennial critic TechCrunch: Part of the evolution of the relationship just changing the consciousness, so that the next time you are planning a stop Techcrunch Techcrunch will not be able to see the overwhelming maleness of it, said Ms .. Sklar, referring to the influential technology conference. Yes we can, regardless of Rachel. Every damn time we have a conference to worry about how we can find women to fill shifts. Please someone that friends and contacts for suggestions. We women are asked to come speak. Where do we end? With nearly 10% of our lives as speakers. Let's put women on the stage only because women theyre that's not fair to the audience who've paid thousands of dollars each to be there. But we do spend an inordinate amount of time to find qualified women and asking to speak. And you know what? Much of the time they say no. Because they are literally persecuted to speak at each event unique in the world of technology, because they are trying so hard to find qualified women to speak at your conference. What is the real problem? I, like others (see all links in that post also Fred Wilson), but pimping agonizing sense to write articles about the problems and suggest creative ways that we (men) could do more to help women. It may be noted that the CEO of TechCrunch is a woman, as someone who is two of the four editors (I am one of the three). And how we women focused events and cover-ups and even death. But I will not do that. Instead I will tell it like it is. And this is what it is, statistically speaking, women have an advantage as entrepreneurs, because the press is dying to write about them, and venture capitalists to finance them are dying. Just so no one is pointing the finger of discrimination and for them.He also criticizes the WSJ article Y Combinator for having only 14 women founders of startups to date 208. But I know Y Combinator wants to REALLY, REALLY want women founders and not just arent many of them. I know because Y Combinator co-founder Jessica Livingston has told me how you are waiting for women candidates, and they want to do everything possible so that more women applicants. What probably is going to admit, but I suspect that is true anyway, is that the acceptance rate for female applicants is much higher than for male applicants. The problem is that Silicon Valley is to keep women down, or not doing enough to encourage women entrepreneurs. The opposite is true. No, the problem is that there are not enough women want to become entrepreneurs. Why? I was asked that question as part of an interview with the New York Times earlier this year. I dodged it completely, and submitted to rail cyan, the founder of Zivity, instead: P. Do you anticipate there will be more companies led by women and the tc50 and disrupt this year? A. Virtual Box are really women. I do not know why. We invited a team founded by a woman to interrupt. But canceled them. Arent just a bunch of women entrepreneurs around technology in relation to the number of men, I think. We welcome those who find the machine you find them. Well theres a chance to write about what they are doing, simply because theyre a very rare thing in our world live. But it's really hard to find women entrepreneurs in technology, in my experience. I really think that this is a problem throughout the industry. P. How does technology for women entrepreneurs and investors in your community feel about this situation? A. Theres a fascinating company, Zivity, a company funded, adult photo community itself, put online pictures of naked women that was co-founded and is headed by a woman, railing cyan. She wrote in response to a post about women who are entrepreneurs, saying, basically, although these are not his exact words, [the women stink] and employers a lot of time because they are feeding and not sufficient risk-taking nature. He said the men throw the dice and take risks, that society does not punish everyone, and its in his nature to take stupid risks. I have answered that. I did not want to go to that debate. And I think still do. Cian is correct? I do not know, I'm not from Mars, Venus and I can not speak intelligently about the care and risk tolerance of women. But I will say this. The next time that women want to start pointing the finger at me when discussing the problem of too few women in technology, such a shutdown.Look in the mirror. Done this and there are women who complain about how there are very few women in technology, and there are women who go out and I get to business. Lets have less of the above and more of the latter. And when you start ang company and cover it. Promise ... ..

@ MrBabyMan Says: Please Dont Let Die Conservation individual content!
Please do not let individual days of healing out content for the sake of RSS-fed self publisher accounts - I've cut this rather long Twitlonger @ MrBabyMan He has some interesting ideas on the New Digg. I like it. Digg Follow me on the new here: http://digg.com/svartlingClipped of www.twitlonger.com On Saturday August 28th, 2010 @ MrBabyMan said KevinRose Digg_community @ @ Please do not let individual days of healing performed by the content RSS accounts fed either an editor. I told the team Digg this since I was invited to Digg HQ to test the V4 Alpha earlier this year. Editorial accounts are dominating the front page Diggs. I fully understand the financial need for participating publishers, but not individual entries of users, in my opinion, Digg became a destination for original content, The New Digg has no more relevance now that popurls Alltop (sorry, Guy), repetition (re-link) what concerns linking. My other words, if Digg is only that there is now mainstream publishers, then it may be also an editorial editor-a-service, as the appeal for the individual user to visit the site have been replaced by a steady stream of advertising marketing. Im not concerned Diggs for older users, as there are plenty of other places for them to find unique content, original, but it saddens me to see Digg, oz the best of the best destination, loss of its nucleus competency.Read at www. twitlonger.com

Foursquare takes over Times Square, a large screen ad
In terms of brand recognition, its hard to top a huge screen poster live in Las Vegas. Purpose Foursquare has managed to do it. As you can see above, we now have a massive, multi-level and multi-angle screen practically shouting about the service to those in Times Square in New York. Time of arrival, find your friends, unlocking the city, the ad says. In smaller print at the bottom of control in spoken American Eagle of some sort of special. Confirm any Foursquare business development, who are American Eagle pay for the ad, saying it is the largest digital billboard in Times Square. American Eagle or not, then it is clearly of a "big announcement (and a great victory) thanks for Foursquare Foursquare itself.Walker Sheibley Mari designer to design the thing.
